Andrew J. "Red" Howard, 85, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Brooklet, Georgia, son of the late John R. and Mary Waters Howard. Mr. Howard served in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1945. He retired from Union Camp Corporation in 1990 after 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Burnette Howard.

Surviving are four daughters, Sandra Howard of Savannah; Penny Howard of Rincon; Judy Christie and her husband, Lynn of Rincon; Donna Mullis and her husband, Mark of League City, TX; two sons, Greg Howard of Memphis, TN; Andy Howard and his wife, Carrie of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Mary H. Williams of Richmond Hill; six grandchildren, Jason Christie and his wife, April, Susie Swiney and her husband, Lloyd, Scott Howard and his wife, Marisa, Julia Mullis, Kayla Mullis, Gaia Saetermoe Howard, great grandchildren, Brooke Starling, Ava Christie, Quinton Christie, Molly Christie, Kyla Swiney , Lloyd Swiney.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Graveside Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

Remembrances may be made in memory of Andrew J. Howard to the Ruth Byck Senior Center, C/O Senior Citizens Inc., 3025 Bull St., Savannah, GA 31405.
